Team America and Diadora 2nd Annual Fall Soccer tournament open to boys and girls club teams (U9-U18)

SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA (February 26, 2016) – Diadora and Team America FC are proud and excited to announce the 2nd annual year of Diadora America Cup (www.DiadoraAmericaCup.com) to be held this Fall in the Northern Virginia area during the Columbus Day Weekend (October 8-9).

Diadora and Team America FC, along with other sponsors, are presenting a new Columbus Day weekend tournament. This tournament has been organized to provide quality competition and to help teams/clubs reduce tournament costs. Keeping entry fees low and reducing travel while increasing the number of games is a powerful combination. Our sponsors Diadora and Virtual Soccer will help make this a memorable experience for players and families.

This tournament is open to all teams that have players registered US Youth Soccer affiliated state association with US Club Soccer, SAY or AYSO, and Super Y Leagues.

Besides the lowest entry fees in the area, each team is guaranteed 4 matches.  Turf fields in Northern Virginia will be predominately utilized to minimize chances of weather cancellations.

The Diadora America Cup offers small-sided competition in age groups U9 - U12:
  •    U9 - U10 format will be 7 v 7
  •    U11 - U12 format will be 9 v 9
  •    U13 - U18 format will be 11 v 11

We plan to have boy’s age group brackets in U9 through U18 and girl’s brackets in U9, U10, U11, U13, U16 & U18.  Special awards will be presented to Champion and Finalist teams in all age groups.

Tournament Headquarters will be in the Team America Clubhouse at the Fairfax Sportsplex strategically located between I395, I495 and I95 at 6800 Commercial Drive, Springfield, Virginia 22151.
